So I'm not going to go to into the weekend since
Sheri covered most of it. I will say that I agree and more about her take on 28 days later. I felt like I'd been through a car wreck after seeing it. Part of it was probably the fearsome hangover, but it was still the most gripping and terrifying horror movie I've seen in years. Maybe ever. It suffers from none of the pacing deficits that most modern horror movies suffer from and really plays up the digital look. It has a gritty realistic feel that really affected me. The whole post apocalypse genre is pretty predictable, but this movie manages to keep you freaking out enough that you don't really care. Cheers to Danny Boyle for finally doing something as good as Shallow Grave.
In an interesting twist, my ranting about not being able to get shows must have really affected Laura from Live Girls apparently wants to manage us. Or so says Paul who's in both bands. I've never been in a band with a manager, but what the hell, if she can get us shows she can take a percentage of whatever nothing the club wants to give us. Mind you, I'm going to use every opportunity to use the word 'manager' in casual conversation. "well our manager says..." "our manager wants us to..." etc. That's sure to get old quick.
Going up to the big ol New Hampster to visit the folkage this weekend. Hoping to see
Matt and Mary as well. Frankly though, I just want to get out of the city.
