About a year ago, Sheri and I went to see Bruce Campbell of Evil Dead fame speak. He was charming, patient with his fans, funny as hell, and really gracious to us when we got him to sign our copies of his book. At the time he had just completed a movie called Bubba-Ho-Tep. He was unflinching in putting down some of the really bad movies he'd been in, including ones that had just come out, but kept saying that we should all see this in all seriousness. Apparently, it's about a 70 year old Elvis with penis cancer in an old folks home. Well, it's just come out, and one reviewer on Slashdot thinks it's an Oscar-worthy performance:

Also, I turned 33 yesterday. I wish I had some killer story to tell about it, but I was flat on my back with this tazmanian death flu that I can't seem to get rid of. Mom was here, though and we had a pretty nice time. On Fri she, Sheri, Jon, Cynthia and I went to Esca, Mario Batali's seafood resteraunt. Fish-a-licious!  ¶ 9:47 AM
