So people have been asking me what Seattle was like. Which I consider only fair since I, you know, went to Seattle. I'm a great believer in a fractal model of life philosophy. In other words, I think small patterns are repeated in large things. So, I'm going to just give one little anecdote that I believe belies what my experience of Seattle was like.
While I was in Seattle, I bought a cup of coffee that was quite good. While leaving the coffee shop, I tripped over another coffee shop and hit my head on a third coffee shop. Some people standing at an espresso cart saw the whole thing and were kind enough to drag me into yet another coffee shop and call the paramedics. I was coming around about the time the paramedics showed up and they all agreed that was called for was coffee. That being the case, they decided they should take me to a coffee shop that was better suited to coming around in, because this was more of an 'already-being-conscious' kind of a coffee shop. Luckily, there was a good coffee shop tucked under one of the tables of this coffee shop that would do quite well. So, after a couple of coffees, we were on our way. The whole thing was really exhausting and I just thank god that there was free coffee in the emergency room because I don't know how I would have made it otherwise.
