I think I've mentioned the webcomic 'Alien Loves Predator' before, but
this one really struck a nerve. We went to see a Korean horror film on Sunday called
A Tale of Two Sisters. It was good, not great. Had some truly 'jump out of your seat' moments, but the ending was a mess and we couldn't figure out a couple of the plot points at all. Even though it was Korean it had a lot of
J-Horror elements, including the plot that needs to be explained to me by somebody who speaks Japanese.
But the movie was made a little better by the fact that it was at Cinema Village and therefore only nine dollars. Yeah, for those of you outside of the city, I said 'only nine dollars'. Movies here are up to 10.50, and there is no such thing as a matinee. When we were in New Mexico we saw a couple movies, both of which pretty much sucked. But I was a lot more inclined to be forgiving because one cost 6 dollars and the other cost the staggering sum of 1.50. At that price I'll watch
Gigli, I swear to god. If I was a rich bastard, I'd open a 7 dollar theater in Williamsburg. Then I'd be an even richer bastard.
Oh well.
