Needless to say, putting everything you own into boxes during the hottest week of the year and sleeping on the floor and trying to figure out how to throw out furniture is much less fun than hanging out in a luxury log cabin sipping gin and tonics, swimming in a beautiful lake, and kayaking to a beach for a hotdog cookout. So what I'm saying is that this week isn't as fun as last week.

Plus, last week was our three year wedding anniversary. That's super cool, but even more amazing is that it marked eight years of us being together. That's truly amazing. I never thought I was properly configured for a decent long-term relationship, but here I am. Admittedly, the relationship Sheri and I prosecute is special in both the sappy romantic, and disturbed psychotic sense of that word. Everybody has their own path to happiness, I guess.

Meghan made us an anniversary dessert of edible flowers, and that pretty much summed it up. We're eating flowers and we love it. She also wrote on our card that we were the coolest couple she'd ever met. Of course, she's thirteen and hasn't had time to meet a lot of us, but hey, it still felt pretty good.

My mother helped us celebrate in the traditional New England way. She told me she had ordered a giant leather couch to be delivered to our place in Brooklyn and then spent the rest of the day laughing about the look on my face when I believed her and freaked out about moving it to Seattle. Every day is April Fools in New England.

Okay, gotta go tape up box number twenty-eight. This is the life.
